Rolling Into the Future: Heydays Skate Park Set to Open June 2025

Get ready to drop in—Mimata Town, nestled in the heart of Miyazaki Prefecture, is about to become a must-visit destination for skateboarders across Japan and beyond. A brand-new concrete park, Heydays Skate Park, is currently under construction and scheduled to open to the public in June 2025.
The design comes straight from the park’s owner, bringing a local, personal touch to every feature. To bring that vision to life, two of Japan’s most respected builders—Shinya “KD” Kodaira and Uzi Matsui—are leading construction, combining craftsmanship and skate knowledge to create something truly special.
🧭 What to Expect
While the full layout hasn’t been publicly revealed yet, here’s what’s in the works:
A flowy street section with ledges, rails, and manual pads
A transition zone featuring hips, bowls, and smooth lines
Beginner-friendly zones designed for safe learning
Shaded areas for spectators and chill-out sessions
Everything is being poured in high-grade, smooth concrete, ideal for skaters of all styles and skill levels. With KD and Uzi on the build and a grassroots design at the core, Heydays is set to become a true community cornerstone—and a destination spot for skaters across Japan.
🌄 Why Mimata?
Mimata Town may not be on every skater’s radar—yet. But that’s what makes Heydays Skate Park so exciting. With a growing interest in action sports, youth culture, and creative outdoor spaces in rural Japan, the town sees this project as a new chapter.
Heydays aims to:
Bring people together
Spark local pride
Inspire the next generation of skaters
